wayne's world...

this site (https://www.fast-rewind.com/bill_ted.htm) says that some argue that Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was just an "inferior rip-off" of Wayne's World. but didn't Bill and Ted come first? i was young... things aren't exactly clear from back then... but i thought for sure Wayne's World came later.
