Alex Winter Storms

A Totally Excellent and Appropriate In this age of portable media, how does one go about sharing their love of the Two Great Ones while out and about? The excellent personages at Widebeam Digital have now solved that problem for us by offering the first, most outstanding and totally official Bill & Ted Soundboard Application for your iPhone, iPhone Touch and iPad! The app includes many outstanding photos in the form of wallpapers which you can use on your devices! There are also some of the most popular phrases from the movies spoken by Bill, Ted and Rufus which you can play to your heart's content! Also available are ringtones which you can get by typing in your e-mail address (not that these are apparently catchphrases from the movies and do not include any of the music, unfortunately.) But the most outstanding feature by far has to be the Wyld Stallyns air guitar (well, actually more like a real guitar, but obviously fans will use it in place of their regular air guitar for more oomph!) which allows you to strum out a vigorous joyous number of electric guitar sounds, presumably just after uttering an exuberant "Excellent!" It's not an extensive application, but for 99 cents (that's 99 Lincolns, dude!) it certainly is a must for any Wyld Stallyns fan who wants to share the love of their favorite movie (keep in mind that all the images and quotes are from Excellent Adventure, but maybe if the app is popular enough the dudes at Widebeam would consider giving us a Bogus Journey app as well, which would be most triumphant indeed!) MTV Gets the Word from Alex About B&T 3 Script! Following
on the heels of their big scoop on Keanu's apparent eagerness for there to be a
third Bill & Ted movie earlier this week, MTV decided it
was time to hear from the other half of the team and so they contacted Alex Winter (via
Twitter,
apparently) for further confirmation. Alex apparently told the music video
news outlet's reporter Adam Rosenberg that the "We've been working on it for the past couple of years, honing that idea and getting it into shape," he continued. "[Screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon] are working on it now. The bottom line is that we still all feel like we need to sit down and look at a script and see if it's everything that it can be before we set about doing anything with it." What should be of comfort to B&T fans is Alex went on to emphasize that the movie won't be cynical. "The essence of what we've always wanted to do is to make a 'Bill & Ted' movie. We don't want to make a cynical 'here's Bill and Ted ? you guys are our kids, now YOU guys go be Bill and Ted and the franchise can live for another 25 years!' It's not that. It's a straight up, what's the funniest and most surprising take on where Bill and Ted would be right now if we stopped back in on them? That's what we're doing." Alex also addressed the issue of how they would handle the loss of George Carlin as Rufus. He expressed that getting around it has been difficult, but assured the reporter that they will not just be replacing Rufus. "That would be horrible. That's the thing about the movies ? they're personality-based. It's Reeves' personality when he's doing comedy, it's my personality and it was George's personality. It doesn't really work when you're pretending that other people are those people, because there's just not that much there [otherwise]. No, we're definitely not going to recast Rufus." Alex said that he'd prefer the movie happen sooner rather than later, and of course fans would like that, too! But while this is definitely the most viable and promising news we have heard about a third movie so far, fans must keep in mind that an actual film is still some ways off. The script will need to be completed and agreed upon by everyone, backing will need to be found, everyone's schedules have to be open at the same time. But with a really good script from Ed and Chris fueling the fire, perhaps at long last we WILL see a legitimate, "straight-up" third Bill and Ted movie with Alex, Keanu, Ed and Chris firmly at the reins, which is what we've been hoping for all along! MTV Gets the Scoop on B&T 3 from Keanu Himself!
During the taped verbal exchange, Keanu explained, "We're trying. Alex and I are still friends and we're talking, and we're talking to Chris and Ed," Reeves said. "They're going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I'd love to play the role. I'd love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again. "We'll see what they do. If it's a film that can stand up on its own ... and I'm meeting people now, they've shown the film to their kids," he added. "We just seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worthwhile, on its own ..." Only time will tell if the outstanding dudes behind the first two movies can indeed put together a solid script which can bring our favorite dudes into the present, but at least this should finally put to bed any unfounded statements that erroneously lay the blame for the lack of a third movie at Keanu's feet. A Most Unprecedented Event at
the New Beverly Cinema
One thing we simply must address is the sudden flurry of online reports stating, in so many words, that Alex Winter verified during the Q&A that a third Bill & Ted movie was forthcoming pending the approval of the proper script. This is stretching the truth to quite an extreme, although Jonathan's report of the question regarding a possible third movie might explain some of the confusion; "One question was asked, are they gonna make a part three? [Alex] said they aren't in any rush to make it, but if the right script came along then definitely." According to Alex's own Twitter page, "All I said about b&t @newbeverly is me, Keanu, Ed & Chris have kicked ideas around over the years. Everything else on the net is conjecture." Alex's statement seems to indicate, quite clearly, what we have reported all along . . . that Alex, Keanu, Ed and Chris and played with ideas for a third B&T pretty much since Bogus Journey finished filming, but that no solid plans for a third movie have ever materialized and may or may not ever come about. While the online reports may sound promising, once again we have to state that, unfortunately, at this time, there is no third movie in the works! We are trying to find as much information as we can about this event, and so far we have found some photos which were taken of Julia Marchese and Alex Winter during one night of Q&A on the New Beverly Cinema's Facebook page, as well as one blogger's account of the event. We would totally love to hear from anyone else who may have been at the screenings to share more information with us about what was discussed! We'd also like to know if anyone had the foresight to videotape the Q&A sessions for posterity! New Beverly Cinema's Facebook Photo Album of Alex's Appearance Exiled

Wanna See the Missing Scenes from Bogus
Journey? The most dedicated and determined Joe dude has decided to let the world know that he, along with many many other Bill & Ted fans, would like to see how Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey was originally made to be seen! As we well know, many scenes from the original movie were omitted at the last minute because they were deemed "too scary for kids." But these scenes really tied the plot of the film together and without them, while we're left with a very entertaining and excellent film, we're left feeling somehow heinously unfulfilled. If you feel the same way and would like to encourage those who may have the missing footage to step forward and release it on DVD in a special edition release of the movie, then you should join the outstanding Facebook group which Joe has started! Excellent! I want to see the alternate scenes to 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' Facebook Page

Keanu Asked About Third B&T at Oscars As skyninger42 informed us on our Forums, MTV's Josh Horowitz cornered Keanu Reeves at the Oscars and posed the question at the forefront of fans minds . . . if they could green light the third Bill & Ted movie right then and there. Keanu replied, "I'm trying!" to which Josh said with surprise, "Are you really?" "Sure," Keanu smiled in his enigmatic way. Josh Horowitz laughed that he couldn't tell if Keanu was joking or not and Keanu said, "I'm not." Now we know that Keanu and Alex used to joke about doing a middle-aged version of Bill & Ted, and both have indicated that a third Bill & Ted wouldn't be out of the question at some point. Ed and Chris also indicated on the special extra disc in the DVD box set that they wouldn't be opposed to doing a third Bill & Ted movie. But still a lot of elements have to be right for it to happen, but this would indicate that there's still hope! Watch Keanu being questioned on the red carpet at MTV Movie Blogs' website

San Dimas Turns 50 in a Most Excellent Way! San Dimas, that most excellent suburb in east Los Angeles county, kicked off a muy bueno fiesta celebration this past week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their incorporation on June 28, 1960. This year-long celebration has been dubbed, most appropriately, "An Excellent Adventure," as a nod toward the Bill & Ted movies which have brought attention to the city for the past 21 years. For many years our fan club's P.O. Box was located in San Dimas, which entailed a forty mile round-trip drive from North Hollywood to pick up the mail once a week or so. But going to San Dimas and seeing the Circle K across the street (even though the movies weren't actually filmed there) was always a lot of fun, so we have very fond memories of the place. And we'd like to add our birthday greetings as well, and wish the city a most outstanding birthday! Read SGVTribune.com's report on the celebration Learn
