Deleted/Alternate Scenes

I wanted to make sure that the deleted/alternate scenes are indeed still out there. If and when they do make a special edition of the two greatest movies of all time, will they go out and find the material to put in the new releases? Also, does anyone know approx. how long those scenes would add to the total movie time? This would really help me solve this mystery I've been wondering for so long. Thanks!
