Paradox's ?

I have been a fan of BIll and Ted for a while
now, and have recently done a little reading
into time travel theories, which got me
thinking about paradox's in Bill and Ted to
do with the actual time travel part.
one major part i noticed was that Rufus never
tells Bill and Ted who he is, the future
Bill and Ted told them. So if Bill and Ted
found out from a future Bill and Ted , who,
if the movie follows the day (after meeting
Rufus) as it happend, found out from a
future Bill and Ted (when they were the
previous Bill and Ted) at the Circle K, how
would Bill and Ted (either of them) know the
Rufus was indeed his name, where did the
origional information come from?
If you follow the multiple timeline theory
(back to the future*) there must have been a
time/instance where Rufus did infact tell
Bill and Ted his name, But if you choose to
follow the single timeline that Excellent
Adventure seems to, then this never would
have happend and Bill and Ted only knew
Rufus' name because THEY told
themselves.
* I'm sure I read somewhere that Excellent
Adventure was origionally going to be "Bill
and Ted's Time Van" but that was changed
because it was too "Back to the
Future"ish... Is that true?
