HAL LANDON, JR. (Capt. Logan) recreates the role of Ted?s father that he played in "Bill & Ted?s Excellent Adventure." Among his other film credits are "Pacific Heights" and "Eraserhead," in addition to "Almost an Angel," "Prison" and "Scavenger Hunt."
Landon is a veteran television actor, having been seen in guest roles on such series as "Cheers," "Newhart," "Father Murphy," "Highway to Heaven," "Lou Grant," "T.J. Hooker," "Remington Steele" and "Matlock." He has also done guest shots on such new series as "Down Home," starring Judith Ivey and "Get a Life." His TV movie credits include "Winnie" and "Sunset Limousine."
In the theatre, Landon has played numerous starring roles at Southern California?s South Coast Repertory Theatre in productions of such plays as "Talley?s Folly," "American Buffalo," "Buried Child," "Glengarry Glenn Ross" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo?s Nest." He has also acted in various other regional theatre across the country.
An amazingly prolific actor and undoubtedly one of the hardest working, Hal Landon, Jr. has an impressive amount of film and television credits on his resume, but that only scratches the surface of his credentials . . . to get the whole picture one must pay attention to his stage work and devotion to regional theater.
A founding member of the South Coast Repertory Theatre in Orange County, California, Hal Landon has appeared in literally dozens of plays, including such classics as Amadeus, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, The Tempest and Waiting for Godot. Most notably he has performed every year for the past 25 years as Ebenezer Scrooge in SCR's delightful adaptation of Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol. This cheerful holiday classic has become a tradition to many theater-goers in Southern California. Currently, Hal has been nominated for an L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for his performance in The Drawer Boy.
In addition to performing onstage, Hal Landon, Jr. teaches courses in acting through South Coast Repertory, Long Beach College and Ron Michaelson's OC Actors Workshop.
Somehow Hal still finds the time to act in front of the camera. Since Bogus Journey he has appeared in such films as Trespass (which also featured William Sadler), Break Up, Playing By Heart and Greener Mountains. His television appearances included roles in episodes of Ellen, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, General Hospital and Frasier.
Mr. Landon, Jr. has most recently appeared in the film Greener Mountains and had a hilarious turn on the series My Name is Earl.
