Ah, no, now that I can explain! That's the difference between letterbox (or widescreen) and what's known as pan-and-scan. The movies were shot for a big movie screen so when they're shown on television it's just a square so they format the movie so it fits in that space, which means someone will inevitably be chopped off on one side or the other. It was very exciting when they finally released Excellent Adventure on DVD in widescreen because it hadn't been widely available in that format before. As for the music in Missy's car, I'm not sure about that one, except when she's shown in the car at the school the song is different than the one playing when they pull up to Ted's house. Otherwise it should be the same, I think. But let me know if you find out that it was different! Party On!
