Station

Does anyone out there ever watch Loyd In Space?
I watched an episode the other day when "Station" the robot wanted to become real to impress his internet girlfriend who was coming to the space station to visit him. Station's friends gave him skin but at the end he confessed he was a robot and pulled off his face just like Evil Bill and Ted do at the beginning of Bogus Journey.
Could this be some sort of tribute, seeing as the robot is also called Station, or is it just a coincidence?
