In fact, the first B&T movie got mostly terrible reviews or was ignored by critics completely. The second film got slightly better reviews, but did commercially poorer than the first. Neither was nominated for any awards.

If memory serves, Alex was never nominated for any awards in the 80's. Keanu occasioinally got 'silly' ones like MTV's "Sexiest Man" one. (His entire speech: "What a whacky, whacky award.").
