Good question! You know for years I knew the sign was there and always thought it looked like the words were in German or something. Your post made me have another look and as best as I can figure it says "Stop Palo Verde and ***bitt Now" (the *** is for the letters covered up by a no smoking sign) This didn't mean anything to me, so I asked my dad if it rang any bells with him. It didn't, but contemplating it together we think perhaps the covered up name might be "Nesbitt" and that maybe it was a possible construction plan of some kind (a developement proposal)? Can't come up with anything on Google by putting in that phrase, so if anyone has the scoop on what the sign means please let us know! Party On! :)
