Oh good, I love answering questions like this! Okay, I don't have an exact shooting schedule for Bogus Journey, but I recall it was something like a three to four month shoot. However, and this is the key part, they definitely did go back at a later time and reshoot stuff, including the Battle of the Bands. Many portions of the movie were deemed too harsh for kiddies, so they removed and reshot several parts (check out the missing scene photos in the galleries under Bogus Journey) and so it's not unlikely that Keanu's hair had grown in that time (and also the final scene in which they come back from medieval England was supposed to be six months later, so hair lengths wouldn't need to be consistent with that). Also some of the B&T doubles, who are clearly visible in parts of the film, had hair that didn't match exactly, so that can make it even more confusing! But yes, Ted, you're right, and good spotting!

I have a blooper I noticed for the first time while watching the Pizza Hut DVD (which by the way is the same cut of the movie as on the MGM DVD but does have Spanish and English subtitles as an option), and that's during the Battle of the Bands when they're giving their final speech, there's a neon hand with a lightning bolt above them that is lit the entire time except in the very last part of the speech! Oops! Party On!
